The history of Trondheim Dog Festival Våren 1992 tok nestleder i Trøndelag Selskapshundeklubb, Ivar Lunde, kontakt med Spanielklubben Myndeklubben Puddelklubben Collieklubben Leonbergerklubben Dette ble gjort for å undersøke muligheten for om det fantes grunnlag for samarbeide mellom klubbene, da flere klubber etter hvert hadde gjort den erfaring at det ble mindre og mindre deltakelse ved utstillinger.
